The weekend

The Midwest is getting a new kind of convention.

Midwest Pixel Fest is being built as a play-first weekend: video games, retro cabinets, tabletop, trading cards, cosplay, vendors, and the people who show up for all of it.

Emporia sits on the I-35 corridor as a meeting point for Kansas City, Wichita, Topeka, Lawrence, Manhattan, and the surrounding Midwest. This is a regional floor, not a scaled-down copy of a coastal mega-con.

Midwest Pixel Fest is a gaming convention first — retro to modern, casual to competitive, cards on the table and controllers in hand. Specific titles and formats will be posted once they are confirmed.

Cosplay takes center stage

Bring the character. Walk the floor. Hit the contest. Midwest Pixel Fest is building space for craftsmanship, first-time costumes, group meetups, and the kind of hallway photos people still talk about in January.

  • Cosplay contest details will be announced
  • Meetups for creators, photographers, and fan groups
  • A community floor that treats costumes as part of the show

Walk the marketplace.

Games, cards, collectibles, art, apparel, makers, and pop culture merchandise are the kind of tables this floor is being built for. Applications are not open, and no vendors are listed yet.
